With the close of summer nearly upon us, we thought it might be a good time to remind you to keep an eye on keeping those gutters clean. We have a few more months before the leaves really start to fall, and when that happens, a gutter without a leafguard can clog up and cause serious problems before you know it.
If your home uses gutters without a leafguard system, we highly recommend installing one before the fall season is fully upon us.
How bad is a clogged gutter?
Though you may notice water coming over the lip of the gutter on a rainy day, a leaky, or overflowing gutter can go unnoticed easily. In these cases, water that flows down to the foundation can cause erosion, bringing further water damage by causing cracks or flooding the basement area.
Water that doesn’t overflow can still be trapped inside the gutter system to cause standing water issues. Still standing water is a fantastic opportunity for insects or mold to gain a foothold in your home. Water that becomes trapped against wood will rot the area, and can cause excessive damage if left unchecked.
After dealing with these problems for years, the men and women at Alu Rex have come up with what we think is the best leafguard in the industry. It keeps leaves, pine needles, and other miscellaneous debris out of the gutter while still allowing a maximum flow of water to be diverted from your roof.
If you’re looking for a better way of maintaining your gutters, give us a call. Alu Rex gutter guards fit almost every style and material (except PVC). We can provide you with a free estimate for the installation, or just clean the gutters out if that’s all you decide you need.
